 It also cannot be related to the lapack in MacPorts because I tried
 running just `clang conftest.c -llapack` which shouldn't find the one in
 MacPorts.

 I also tried the previous version and it didn't change anything. Another
 machine with Lion - no change.

 I suspect that lapack in Lion is simply too old.
