There’s no way you have a working installation. You can’t just skip steps
like that.

`configure` script that comes in the MacPorts tarball before running
`make` and `sudo make install`. (You may have to adjust the uninstallation

So here I am:

Where or what 'configure' should I be using (being that it is not working
now, and I am not so silly as to rm odd things)?
