 I have the exact same configuration, and the commands in comment 3 show
 the identical results as in comment 4. I installed macports 2 days ago,
 and the first command i was running after updaten the portlist is:

 {{{
 sudo port -v install gtk2 +x11
 }}}

 All packages except graphite2 were installed just fine, i get the same
 error messages as reported in comment 1.
