 I had the same problem as the original poster, but on a system running
 10.7.5 Lion (Darwin 11.4.2). I modified the relevant if-statement in the
 portfile (see #comment:15) to
 {{{
 if {${os.major} <= 11} {
 }}}
 which seems to fix the problem for me. Perhaps this patch is required on
 Lion as well (as suggested by #37711)?
