 Are you running this command in Apple's Terminal.app?  If so, that's the
 issue.  You need to execute GNU Radio GUI commands using X11.app or
 XQuartz.app. On 10.8, use the installer found here at
 [http://xquartz.macosforge.org/ MacOSForge].  If not, then I'll think of
 something for you to try to help me debug this issue.
