 As KDE developer (i'm digiKam project coordinator), i can take a look to
 kde workspace components to compile fine with macport.

 Not all sub-components are relevant of X11 in kde workspace. Some item can
 be compiled as well, some other no. At least i can propose a patch to KDE
 core team to compile the minimum of this component under OSX. It's not the
 final solution but it's a first step.
