New description:

 Just to make sure, I uninstalled macports, reinstalled macports, installed
 with "sudo port install mapm3 +large_datasets". I can start mapmaker and
 issue a few commands, but the "sequence all" command caused the following
 error:
 {{{
 /opt/local/bin/mapmaker: line 4: 17216 Abort trap: 6
 MAPM_LIB="/opt/local/bin" ./`basename "$0"` "$@"
 }}}

 I can assist with testing builds. This is a high priority port for me and
 geneticists doing gene mapping work.
 Thanks!
 Paul
