 Hi guys,


 it's too late now to try this now. This morning I capitulated and
 installed Mavericks on my machine.
 A couple of hours later, MacPorts was through.
 And indeed, now it works.
 I'm quite relieved, because I needed graph-tool for my PhD Thesis..
