Comment:

 I don't have a Tiger box and don't have the cycles to invest in that old
 OS.  If you want to make a change like you did for glib2 for 3.4 and
 earlier, that'd be fine.  Note that 3.5 and later require Snow Leopard or
 later due to the dependence on libc++
