Comment:

 Cacti doesn't require mysql on the local computer at all, does it? It just
 requires php*-mysql to be able to talk to a mysql server (which needn't be
 on the same computer). Seems like what the port needs is php variants, and
 in them a dependency on php*-mysql. Then the only remaining problem is
 that the instructions would need to be made more generic, since the
 instructions would not know which mysql binary the user has.
