 That's my bug report.  The attached log downloads as a '.bin' file, but it
 seems to behave fine when read as a text file; I attach it here, re-named
 as guile.log.

 I think that the problem might be something in my environment, since I
 can't build MacPorts's guile either:
 https://trac.macports.org/ticket/44112.  On the other hand, the HomeBrew
 formula *does* build for me without trouble.  The only difference that I
 can find is
 https://github.com/Homebrew/homebrew/blob/49bb89e1e494603fbfb41a3092c30ba4ed9f27a0/Library/Formula/guile.rb#L50-53,
 but, when I e-mailed mkhl to find out more about the fix, he said that he
 no longer develops on Macs, and didn't think that he could offer any
 insight.
