 I don’t know why someone might want to read it, but they might.

 And 30 KB is negligible. Other than for multi-megabyte patches and the
 like, we’ve never cared about the sizes of files in the repository, and I
 don’t see why we should start doing so. It’s 2014, and we’re not paying
 for MacPorts’ bandwidth.
