Comment:

 Ok, so it turns out that cython did have a problem with
 [http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.comp.python.cython.user/11946 ignoring
 include paths sent to cythonize]. I just tested that
 [http://stackoverflow.com/questions/23857678/cython-compilation-error-
 with-include-path-as-a-keyword-in-cythonize using Extensions] works.
 Closing this as invalid since it was an upstream bug.
