Comment:

 Has duplicate #42360. I have no idea what's wrong, though. Do you have the
 git-core port installed? Which version of openssl do you have? What does
 `otool -L /usr/bin/git` print?

 It certainly works for me, so there must be something different on your
 system compared to mine.
