Comment:

 Upon inspection, configure falls back to libatomic_ops only if it can't
 compile a specific (intel) bit of inline asm. So that's why it's a Tiger
 issue.

 Ryan, I don't have a Tiger machine anymore so can you verify that adding a
 dependency on libatomic_ops fixes the problem for you?  Probably an issue
 for Leopard as well.  Not needed for SL on.
