I probably tried 5-6 times or more, and the process always got stuck on
the step shown above, i.e. linking or building an armv7 .

Erm, hard? I didn't save any crash logs as I first wanted to be sure the
upgraded llvm-3.4 was built with the compiler I'd tested the 3.4_0 version
with.
No, I don't have the arm_runtime variant selected, not explicitly in any
case. clang3.4 doesn't have any dependents on my system, so I presume that
+arm_runtime variant cannot have been selected because of dependencies...
