 I can compile apache24-devel and have got it working.

 How hard would it be to simply take the php54 in Bjarne's work and modify
 it to create php54-devel, compile the current php 5.4.24 and require the
 apache24-dev version?

 That would get the mission accomplished.

 Either that or mark the project Abandoned.
