Comment:

 The problem is solved if I use `macports-clang-3.4`. But I still have no
 clue why the problem is there (with the default compiler) in the first
 place.

 I would like to be able to create a minimal working example showing the
 problem with the compiler (to decide whether it's a compiler problem or
 something that could be easily fixed in ROOT sources), but I didn't manage
 to reproduce the problem outside of ROOT despite trying.

 I would be grateful for some insight.
