 Regarding older OSX releases, one thing I should have commented on is I
 did see during the configuration step ROOT6 now checks to see if c++11 is
 supported or not. What it does if that fails I do not know, but I would
 rather not just disable <10.9 systems without first finding out ? For
 instance I have a suspicion that OSX10.8 might just now work (upstream
 seems to claim this), but it is possible the current compiler blacklists
 might prevent this without some further tweaking. Unfortunately, as I only
 have access to OSX10.9 this is not something I can really test myself....
