 You should contact the developers of LaTeXiT and advise them to rewrite
 their code to no longer use OS X's garbage collection. The replacement
 feature is called automatic reference counting, however IIRC that will
 require compiling on OS X 10.7 or newer, with a possibility that the
 compiled program could still be used on 10.6.
