 I do get the same results with `nm` as you do. Now, the best part is ...
 if I `cd /opt/local/libexec/root6/lib/root`, then `.demo` works. So it
 seems that some libraries might be linked without the path.

 I don't have any `.rootrc` file and `new TBrowser();` works as expected
 (else I wouldn't claim that ROOT worked on my machine).

 I upgraded `root6` in r121157.
