 I can reproduce the same thing. The issue is in fact nothing to do with
 ROOTSYS, but the fact I was starting a new TBrowser() by default each time
 I start root, from a script I start from my ~/.rootrc file.

 I am pretty sure this is an upstream issue of some form...
