livecheck says:
{{{
Local-Admins-MacBook-Pro:~ ericgallager$ port -v livecheck gvpe
gvpe seems to have been updated (port version: 2.22, new version: 2.25)
}}}
Some important items to note from
[http://cvs.schmorp.de/gvpe/NEWS?view=markup NEWS]:
- Some of the protocol changes are incompatible with previous versions
- added sha256 and sha512 support to the software (the MacPorts Portfile
will want to add rmd160 and sha256 checksums for the tarball, but that is
a different issue and unrelated to the support for different checksums
within gvpe itself)
- more conf options
- better detection of openssl
- Will now opportunistically link against zlib (for openssl's sake), so
the MacPorts Portfile will want to add a dependency on zlib.
- Configury is based on newer autotools
- uses the libev 4 API (MacPorts never declared a dependency on libev for
gvpe previously, so maybe it will want to add one? gvpe does include its
own copy of libev vendored into its tree, but I am not sure if it would be
better to use that or the libev port in MacPorts...)
- License clarification (MacPorts already has the GPL-3+ under its
license, so we should be fine there)
- bug fixes (unfortunately these bug fixes seem to have '''not''' included
a fix for the build failure that I have been running into, both with the
current version and the new version, but that is a separate issue...)
(gvpe has no maintainer btw)
