 Can I just run the command anywhere on the filesystem like so?

 {{{

 sudo: /opt/local/bin/ar: command not found
 }}}

 For one thing, ar does not live at /opt/local/bin/ar, which would clearly
 be a showstopper. I've found what files a port belongs to once they are
 installed, but I don't know how to find what port _should_ have been there
 to put that file there...
