 But since there hasn't been one, I suppose a workaround is in order. I'm
 not qualified to say whether your patch is the best fix for the issue, but
 I've no objection to adding it.

 Incidentally, I haven't been using rtorrent for some time, so it might be
 best if I drop maintainership so that someone with a more active interest
 could take over. Not sure what the procedure for that is, though.
