 Fair enough. Can you please tell me where I can actually get documentation
 on the sandbox system and how to use/configure it, and can you tell me
 where/how MacPorts interacts with it?

 "man sandbox" doesn't really say anything, nor does sandbox-init,
 sandboxd, sandbox-exec, etc.
