 Unfortunately (at least last I checked) `dpkg` requires un-suffixed
 versions of the perl commands, and only the `perl5` port installs them so
 far because the `perl_select` port does not work yet: [#29763]. This is
 the same reason that snc had to go and revert all the usage of a specific
 version of perl in [comment:ticket:29763:32].
