Comment (by christian.frisson@…):

 Hi,

 It would work as an interim for me on a local port source with modified
 dependents. But I still also have dependents on qt4 not yet ported to qt5
 that forces me to stick with qt4.

 If separate and side-by-side installations of qt4 and qt5 could be
 managed, that would require modifying qt4-mac as well, maybe breaking
 dependents on the way, right?

 How would you see it? As follows (with X=4;5)?
   * ${prefix}/include/qtX/...
   * ${prefix}/share/doc/qtX/...
   * ${prefix}/share/qtX/...
   * /Applications/MacPorts/QtX/...

 But how to deal with binaries? By appending -qtX to each?
 And pkgconfigs?
 And Frameworks?
 And mkspecs?

 Another suggestion: I also first tried compiling, but got annoyed to have
 it fail after several hours, repeatedly. Hence the interim solution. How
 about making one port per qt library, fetched from gitorious, and a macro
 port to install them all? Would that help progressively having the whole
 to compile, step-by-step?

 Best regards,
 Christian
