 I'm on mavericks and it was with mu-devel (forgot to check mu). I tried
 adding to the configure.cxxflags but mu wouldn't pick it up for some
 reason. I even tried adding to the cxxflags variable and then appending
 that to configure.args but still no dice. I would love for someone else to
 be able to take a look but it'd be hard to verify the errors because
 you'll need a mu database to test against.
