 Nice to read this, unfortunately I find not time to make a proposal for a
 modified Portfile. Another open point is that using gcc48 excludes any
 possibility to do universal binary building (but honestly, who is
 essentially in need of universal builds?). `clang` would allow universal
 building, but presently `clang` 3.1 to 3.3 are not sufficiently working,
 and `clang` 3.4 cannot be built so far. As soon these building problems
 are being fixed in the near future (I hope!), I am looking forward if 3.4
 is working for PPC, and in case it is, `boost` possibly can be build again
 without my hack described above on PCCs.
