 FWIW, it looks like [https://code.google.com/p/go/issues/detail?id=2992#c9
 bsdthread_register() Err#22 (EINVAL) might be a dtruss artefact] (which is
 someone talking about using dtruss to trace go programs, apparently they
 were looping in the error handler in that case).

 But the fact it's not making it to the next line of code still implies
 it's something in the _atfork() handlers, not in the glib
 fork_exec_with_pipes() code.
