 Sorry, Larry, made a mental note about not adding a comment when attaching
 files.

 To make sure I rebuilt after a port clean libgcc. Unfortunately with the
 same result.

 I had forgotten that libgcc/gcc generate multiple config.log files, so I
 accidentally attached the top level file, which did not contain any useful
 info. I've replaced it with the file you suggested.
