 It seems that the xgawk software has been changed: much of its
 functionality has been incorporated in GNU awk (which is available in
 MacPorts in the gawk port), and the rest is now available in extensions
 called gawkextlib:

 http://sourceforge.net/projects/gawkextlib/files/

 A new port for gawkextlib should be developed, and the xgawk port should
 be `replaced_by` it.
