Comment:

 This ticket has been open a while, but the issue is still relevant.

 Lots of things tend to break when you mess with the dbus startup files
 (see e.g. #15081).

 When you want to uninstall MacPorts, the guide says to run the command
 {{{
 sudo port -fp uninstall installed
 }}}
 This should uninstall any dbus related startup files.
