 I do not know what requires gcc47.  I am currently experimenting by
 removing all gcc47 versions, installing gcc48, and then running `sudo port
 upgrade outdated`.

 My build is quite long (maybe 20 hours?), and this is probably the case
 since I have the entire gnome-desktop package installed.  I was actually
 surprised at the time taken to build it since it used to take max six
 hours.  I am on a MacBook Pro mid-2014 model (13").
