 Actually, I did use port uninstall. It then proceded to hang, spending
 over an hour stuck on one port. At *that* point I trashed the lot and
 started again. Don't assume that people have not tried to do the right
 thing before they contacted you. Sometimes the port tools are much less
 than brilliant. This has been one of those occasions.
