 I took a look at the bitbucket portgroup.  It does not seem that helpful
 in this case because there is a ''real'' tarball to fetch and the
 portgroup seems to work best when we are fetching a tag.  Fetching a tag
 would be inappropriate because the `configure` file is not under version
 control and we would need to generate it ourselves.
