 @sean: yes, please, if you could test those that would be great.

 The Octave devs have a patch for the new SuiteSparse API:
 http://hg.savannah.gnu.org/hgweb/octave/rev/afd6179d2616  .  I've attached
 it as a -p0 patch to this ticket. It fixes the immediate SuiteSparse
 issue, but I get errors due to "#include <math.h>" not chaining through
 properly.
