 This is happening again with ffmpeg-devel @20140828 (i.e. 2.3.git) and VLC

 And yes, while ffmpeg-devel does work with VLC-devel, I would prefer that
 it worked with the stable VLC as well, as VLC-devel is having some other
 runtime issues with me (which I need to file upstream) which are making me
 want to switch to the stable version.
