 You can specify the compiler to use manually, e.g.

 sudo port install sam2p configure.compiler=macports-gcc-4.9
 }}}

 That works for me, but it requires the port gcc49 to be installed. Other
 compilers may work as well.

 I think {{{compiler.fallback}}} needs to be defined in the Portfile
