 main.log was attached with the original ticket. I can see it -- is there
 some sort of permissions issue? When I initially installed gnuplot I used

 {{{sudo port install gnuplot}}}

 this installed the AquaTerm variant, which I guess explicitly excludes
 wxWidgets and X11.
