 Yes, these the scripts in
 /opt/local/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/3.4/lib/python3.4
 /site-packages/setuptools/

 Perhaps this is the problem. Even though I have installed py34-setuptools
 with `sudo port install py34-setuptools`, I do not have `py34compat.py`.
 Could that be the problem?
