 There's a difference - using 'PortGroup github 1.1' is encouraged if the
 project is hosted at github.  The portgroup will download a tar file and
 so will have checksums.    Using fetch with git is discouraged as it
 typically needs a hash and will download all the files upon every fetch
 and typically it can't use checksums.
