 I now upgraded the port and switched to perl 5.22 nevertheless (it was
 broken before, so we have nothing to loose) in r143406.

 I see that `jul_bsd` added additional patches, but I wasn't sure which
 ones are still relevent. If you are still here and willing to check what
 else might be needed, feel free to post a new patch and I can include that
 one.

 Maybe there is a way to install an older (private) version of rrdtool
 somehow?

 Anyway, I don't know if this port is needed/wanted. It hasn't been
 functional for a long time from what I can see and the development doesn't
 really seem active.
