 Please use WikiFormatting when writing in Trac.

 The error message tells you what you need to do. You are trying to install
 gettext without the universal variant, but previously tried to install it
 using the universal variant. Decide which variant you want to use. Run
 "sudo port clean gettext". Then try again.
