Comment:

 Ok, that's completely normal. The command "port -qv installed >
 myports.txt" creates a file myports.txt in the current directory, so you
 need to have write permission in the current directory.
 /opt/local/etc/macports is not a directory where normal users have write
 permission, so that should not be your current directory when you run the
 command. Being in your home directory is a good choice.
