 I can't reproduce your problem here.
 Can you confirm which versions of dependencies `glib2` and `cairo` are
 installed

 {{{
 $ port installed glib2 cairo
 The following ports are currently installed:
   cairo @1.14.0_0+quartz+x11 (active)
   glib2 @2.42.1_0 (active)
 }}}

 and that the following files exist on your machine
 {{{
 /opt/local/include/glib-2.0/glib-object.h
 /opt/local/lib/pkgconfig/cairo-gobject.pc
 }}}
