 I just pushed r133004, which should fix the GUI selection issues mentioned
 above. This revision makes no changes with respect to this ticket. I
 encourage everyone to do:
 {{{
 sudo port selfupdate
 }}}
 and then play around with updating (which installs with +glgui by default)
 and installing with -glgui (which disables the FLTK-based GUI).
