 (I was thinking about splitting this into two parts: the module and the
 "executable", but I'm not sure if that makes sense or not.)

 I was playing with the `Portfile` a bit and the thing I wasn't aware of
 was that the order of these two commands matters:
 {{{
 perl5.create_variants   ${perl5.branches}
 perl5.setup             ${name} ${version}
 }}}
 else the setup picks the default perl version, no matter what the variant
 is (`perl5.create_variants` has to select `perl5.major` early enough).

 Can you please test the attachment?
