 py27-mayavi with vtk (vtk @6.1.0_0+python27) works for me. Can you
 describe what you are doing when you see the error? Perhaps you can
 provide a minimum self-constrained python script? I suspect that something
 may be wrong with your vtk installation. You can try one of the tutorial
 examples in the vtk-6.1 sources
 (http://www.vtk.org/files/release/6.1/VTK-6.1.0.tar.gz). For example,

 {{{ $ python Cone5.py }}}

 should work.
